---These six rag placemats was a special order for a customer who wanted something "really bright" for her table. I used a simple print fabric of bright rainbow stripes, cutting some of the fabric horizontally and some vertically. I used the vertical cuts to form the accent stripes on the ends of each placemat. The fringe is natural. A perfect set for casual dining.
Machine wash, warm. Dry flat.

---A pretty floral bed sheet got a second life through these placemats. I tore the sheet fabric instead of cutting it which makes for a lot of "rough" edges that peek out of the weaving here and there. I like the rustic look on the floral colors. The placemats are accented with narrow stripes of pink, peach and green and are finished with fringe in white and natural with pieces of the stripe colors as accents. Sturdy enough to use every day; pretty enough for special occasions.

I was so excited when I finally found this wonderful print of recurring rose and orchid shaded flowers on a deep beige background that I bought extra to use in other projects. It really is a pretty fabric that weaves up into alternating sections of rose/orchid and beige that seem to fade into each other naturally. This table runner has a semi-formal look to it—maybe it’s the colors. I don’t know, I just think its pretty! The fringe is a tri-tone mix of natural shades.
